Linkin Park – “Burn It Down” | Lyric Video

Following a brief hiatus from music (and an even longer break from their core Nu Metal sound), Linkin Park make a return today with this lyric video to “Burn It Down”. The song serves as the brand new single from the band’s forthcoming fifth album, entitled Living Things, which we can expect to see released on June 26th.

Just as the music itself has changed in recent years, the clip, who’s directorial credits are unlisted, strays far from Linkin Park’s early energetic and thrilling videos, instead opting for a sedated theme which sees the melodic lyrics aligned over a rotating “lava” man, suited to the song’s title. Speaking on the forthcoming LP, lead singer Chester Bennington ensures that Living Things will revisit familiar ground, though.

“With this album, we’ve incorporated a lot of guitar work with big choruses and the heavier electronic stuff to give it that really big wall of sound feeling without getting too metal. This will be more familiar to people than A Thousand Suns was, where we were like ‘Fuck it, we’re just going to go bonkers,” he says.

Living Things will be available for pre-order at 1pm PST (9pm GMT) today at linkinpark.com.
