K’naan f/ Nelly Furtado – “Is Anybody Out There” | Music Video

In January, Somalian bred emcee K’naan released his latest EP More Beautiful Than Silence.  The five-track project explored a variety of topics including but not limited to: empathy, dreams, peace and helping Somalian children.  Today from that project, K’NAAN releases the visual installment of “Is Anybody Out There” featuring Nelly Furtado.

The motivational song, has become an anthem of sorts detailing a series of different stories that kind of work like TLC’s classic, “Waterfalls.”  With the stories of a drug addict and a lady who suffers from depression, K’naan relays the message that essentially there are problems that occur close to us.

For the video, which premiered on Vevo today, K’naan keeps with the same theme of the song, and shows two different teenagers who are fighting through the pressures of society, and fighting loneliness.  The video was directed by Chris Robinson, and filmed in Toronto.

Also, coinciding with the release of the video, K’naan announced the release date of his upcoming album, Country, God or The Girl which will be released via A&M/Octone on May 1st.  The album will feature a diverse group of collaborations from artists notably, Bono, Nas, and Will.i.Am, so mark your calendars.
