@ Gil Scott-Heron- Just want to say I am THRILLED that you are making a re-entry onto the main stage-hope you decide to do a tour of some kind. I’ve always loved your music I heard growing up; unfortunately, not much of it was played here in the “South” (maybe for fear we would “think” about something of essence). However, my boyfriend has absolutely EVERYTHING Gil ever recorded, and I lament over the fact that Gil knew this fiasco was coming more than 40 years ago & TRIED to warn us @ the vultures, but we wouldn’t pay the proper attention and to our detriment. So glad he’s doing well & I can’t WAIT for the next ones to emerge!!! Congrats to you, Gil- and many thanks to Salon for having the insight to make such a bold move!!!! (I wrote this in response to an article today before I knew this Prophet was gone…RIP Gil)
