French Montana signs to Bad Boy + Premieres “Shot Caller” [Video] | Music News

After months of rumors circulating of signing to G.O.O.D. Music to Maybach Music Group to Roc Nation, French Montana has officially announced that he is the newest member of the Bad Boy family.

Earlier this evening, French Montana and Diddy made their way to the 106 & Park studios to let the Hip-Hop world know of the newest member to the Bad Boy Records imprint.

“I represent New York for the fullest,” Diddy said on the show. “For real for real, can’t nothing move in this city without us being a part of it. We the Yankees of this whole thing! It’s time for us to get what we supposed to get. [French] got them pinstripes on and he ready to hit it out the park.”

As a Bronx native, French explained he’s more than happy to stay in New York and keep representing for the NY sound. “I really feel real good that’s why I kept it here in New York,” French told Rocsi & Terrance J. “Why would I take my talent to South Beach? When I met with Puff and sat down and really spoke, he told me a couple of things and [he] never lied to me about nothing and always kept his word. It is what it is. It’s New York. I want to bring it back to New York.”

Aside from the announcement, French also debuted his new video for “Shot Caller.”
