Before I begin, I’d like to say it makes me one happy fella to see eLZhi grace the blogosphere again. With a world tour currently underway (catch footage from his SoundClash Music Festival performance here), and a new album, The Weather Man, on the horizon, the Detroit-bred lyricist (one of hip-hop’s best, if you ask me) gives his recently-released “Blue Widow” single its deserved visual certification.

The clip, directed by Donovan Glover, backs El’s smooth production and refined bars with some simple, yet slick, visuals, which sees the rapper recite his rhymes from the comfort of a studio – cigar in hand, and with the swagger of the most mainstream of emcees – to later take to the harsh, nighttime streets.

Check out the clip for “Blue Widow” below, and download the track here. The Weather Man is due out this Autumn.
