You’ve heard the audio, now get a load of the video to E-40, Kendrick Lamar and Droop-E‘s “Catch A Fade” collaboration. Directed by Fredo Tovar and Scott Fleishman, the clip does well to match the atmospheric eeriness of the beat (which comes courtesy of Droop-E) as the Left Coast pair recite their rhymes in a dark-lit, abandoned building.

Kendrick isn’t a scary character, but seeing him deliver his threatening bars in that straight-faced manner will have any Compton native thinking twice about “catching a fade”.

Find the track on E-40’s triple-volume The Block Brochure: Welcome To The Soil album, which is out now.
