Busy Signal – “Bedroom Bully” | Music Video

busy signal: bedroom bully

If you’ve missed hearing Busy Signal deejay, instead of the  b  a  r  e  l  y there singing we’ve had to painstakingly endure in recent years, then “Bedroom Bully” has finally ‘given us free’.

Not only is the beat, which was produced by Busy’s label Turf Music, reminiscent of ’80s and early ’90s dancehall riddims but Busy Signal also unmistakably channels dancehall giant Shabba Ranks in his flow. In fact, at the opening of the “Bedroom Bully” video Busy leaves a message for the dancehall icon: “’Big respect to living Grammy legend Rexton Gordon aka Shabba Ranks who paved the way for youths like me…’”

The video, which was directed by Dameon Gayle, features curvaceous and enviably flexible females showcasing their ‘bedroom bully’ moves. While the video is minimalist in its focus – girls dancing and flexing against a column; Busy Signal tapping the ample buttocks of girls in an elevator – it manages to convey its message in a ‘PG-13’ way, again evocative of videos from the ’80s and ’90s.
