Beyoncé – ‘I Was Here’ | Music Video

To kick off World Humanitarian Day, Beyoncé releases the video for “I Was Here,” the heartfelt ballad from her 4 album that has become the official rallying cry for the cause.

Produced by Ridley Scott & Associates and directed by Kenzo Digital and Sophie Muller, the video consists of footage from the singer’s recent live performance at the United Nations General Assembly Hall.

Though not written specifically for the World Humanitarian Day, King Bey says the song’s lyrics made it a perfect fit.

“All of our dream is to leave our mark on the world. We all want to feel like our lives meant something and that we did something for someone else and that we spread positivity, no matter how big or how small,” the singer explained during a recent appearance on CNN. “So the song was perfect for Humanitarian Day.”

Now in its fifth year, World Humanitarian Day’s goal is to inspire one billion people to commit to completing at least one humanitarian act.
