Bartoven – ‘Ouch’ (Freestyle) | Music Video

Meet Bartoven, a quirky, unorthodox 19-year-old ball of flames set to introduce a different angle of UK Hip-Hop to the masses. A South Londoner who prides himself on penning poetic real-life situations, controversial punchlines and metaphors and has a fashion style that is quite reminscent of the 80s, Bartoven releases the video for “Ouch,” the intro on his current project The Raggedy Tape.

Bartoven’s current body of work consists of collaborations with Tinchy Stryder and Tinie Tempah, and, quite impressively, he has already performed as an opening act for SkeptaProfessor Green and Aloe Blacc.

His rebellious rapping style has gained him label interest over the years, however, as you’ll hear in “Ouch,” Bartoven is very much against compromising his creativity for financial gain.

The video, directed Aaron Hanson and  Chimezie Emenike, sees Bartoven in a variety of animated scenes, including a label scene in which he shuns the offer of a dodgy record deal.

You can hear more material like this on The Raggedy Tape.
