Mr. Muthafuckin’ eXquire freestyles on Pitchfork’s “Selector” [Video]

Pitchfork introduced their “Selector” segment almost two years ago (March 22nd 2010 to be exact). The video series follows the same format every time: Nabbing a dope emcee, offering him or her two different beats (that are generally from indie producers) and asking them to pick one – and one only – for a freestyle.

The site’s segment has had such a warm response that Pitchfork recently released their Selector Mixtape Vol. 1, compiling some of the best recordings from their meetings that include verses from A$AP Rocky, Big Boi and Danny Brown, and beats from the likes of MF DOOM, Clams Casino and UK’s own Joker.

The latest talent to get in front of the Pitchfork cameras is Mr. Muthafuckin’ eXquire, the Brooklyn rapper best known for his track “The Last Huzzah” as well as his colourful personality. Filmed on Valentine’s Day in a strip club (which is a very relevant spot if you know eXquire), the crew gave him the choice of “Bambi” by Suuns or “Away From” by Robot Koch.

We won’t spoil it for you, just let it be known that the freestyle was hot. Host Eavvon O’Neal even threw a few curve balls his way, which MMF took in his stride. Watch the (NSFW) clip below.
