Moses Sumney – “Man On The Moon” | New Music

I’ll put my hand up and admit that I had been sleeping on the epic talent that is Moses Sumney, but my ignorant slumber was beautifully broken when I saw him perform live at Solange‘s showcase at SXSW in Austin, Texas, which also hosted from a dream line-up that included Kelela, Iman Omari and Tweet, and to say I was impressed would be a crime to the greatness that I witnessed.

After totally falling in love with his performance, I searched for any and everything I could find. So today following a few thousand plays of his previously released tracks “Alchemy” and “Dwell In The Dark”, the folk influenced, soulful young Los Angeles residing talent delivers another addictive slice of greatness titled “Man On The Moon”, which is the first taster from his forthcoming EP Mid City Island, a lo-fi collection of songs recorded in his bedroom on cassette tape and an ’80s 4-track recorder.

Press play below and then go to his SoundCloud for some more audio goodness.

Mid City Island will be released on April 7th.
