Queensbridge’s finest Mobb Deep have announced that they have secured their own label deal with Sony’s RED Distribution, for their Infamous Records imprint and will release their ninth studio album entitled Mobb Deep via RED. In a statement, Prodigy – one half of the M-O-B-B said:
“After almost twenty years in this industry, it was inevitable for us to take matters into our own hands. We feel that RED is the perfect home for our brand.”
“We’re ready to work and build our own structure.”
“We know who our fans are and what they want from Mobb Deep,” says Havoc. “We’re excited to take a new step in our career.”
Speaking to XXLMag.com they revealed some details on what fans can expect on their forthcoming, self-titled album:
“We’re almost done,” P stated. “Amazing; that’s the best way to describe it. We touch on everything. Real life shit that we’re going through.”
Havoc added, “We have new producers.. Of course shit from me, shit from Alchemist. Definitely what you’d expect from us but on a newer level.”
Hav also said the album should be hitting shelves either at the end of this year or the beginning of 2012 but the IMD will be dropping a mixtape to address the thirst of the fans like myself.
