Michael Jackson “Thriller” jacket sells for $1.8 million

The unforgettable red jacket that Michael Jackson wore in his seminal 1983 “Thriller” video has sold at auction for $1.8 million at Julien’s Auctions in Beverly Hills. The jacket was worn by Michael in the scene with a group of zombies who rise from their graves straight into some classic choreography.

Let’s refresh your memory.

The jacket will be sent on tour and used as a fundraising tool for children’s charities and some of the money will go to the Shambala Preserve, a big cat sanctuary caring for two tigers Jackson owned.

To read our tribute to MJ in remembrance of his passing, let’s return to this classics with the Bad album.
