Meyhem Lauren f/ Action Bronson + Heems – “Special Effects” (Prod. Harry Fraud) | New Music

Meyhem Lauren, the big, round, burgeoning rapper from Queens, NY who sounds scarily like Christopher Wallace, rounded up his fellow indie heads in a hotel room during SXSW and called for a plan of action to piece together a dope rap song. “Special Effects” is what they came up, and it doesn’t fall short of expectations.

Recruiting Action Bronson (with whom he has worked previously on “Expensive Pens”, off Blue Chips), Heems of Das Racist (who is also acquainted with the host emcee, via “A Different World”, off Kool A.D.‘s new 51 album) and Harry Fraud (the beat-making maestro who is working with pretty much every rapper in existence right now), Lauren has his hands on the first leak from his forthcoming Respect the Fly Shit tape, which will be released via Greedhead/LRG later this month.

Dishing dexterous rhymes over a vibrant and hypnotic boom bap sequence – Lauren, Bam Bam, Himanshu and Fraud provide yet another reason why New York is exciting as f*ck right now.
