Melanie Fiona – “4AM” (Prod. by Rico Love) | New Music

If you weren’t already anticipating Canadian songstress Melanie Fiona‘s upcoming sophomore album The MF Life – due for release later this year – this song might change your mind. Produced by Rico Love, “4AM” sees the Grammy nominated singer reflect over a contemporary R&B backdrop, with the painful anxiety of wondering where the hell her man’s at in the middle of the night; He don’t even care; it’s 4am and my lover won’t answer… He’s probably somewhere with a dancer, sipping champagne while I’m in his bed..”

Melanie Fiona – “4AM”:

Catchy and [emotionally] connecting, “4AM” is a promising start to the Toronto native’s follow-up album to 2009’s The Bridge. My sole complaint about this tune: this woman can sing her ass off – truly – so the auto-tune’s completely unnecessary [and annoying]. For proof: our New York readers can catch Melanie performing alongside Jagged Edge and Avant at Summerstage, Central Park on August 28 – for free! Visit summerstage.org for details.
