With his new album Where Does This Door Go dropping next month, Michigan born crooner Mayer Hawthorne gives a ‘Behind The Door’ teaser as he works in the studio with producers Pharrell, Oak and more.

Following 2009’s A strange Arrangement and 2011’s How Do You Do, Where Does This Door Go is to be Mayer’s third studio LP and is set for release through Universal Republic Records on July 16th, featuring 16 tracks including a collaboration with West Coast rap star Kendrick Lamar.

“There’s no other guy like him that has his voice and then that story – it’s a great story man, really great story,” Pharrell muses on Hawthorne’s talents; which include singing, producing, writing, DJing, rapping and commanding a variety of instruments. “Wait til you guys hear it… it’s a book – his fucking album’s a book. It’s good.”
