Mariah Carey’s “Triumphant” comeback single to feature Rick Ross, Meek Mill

Die-hard Mariah Carey fans lambs worldwide can now breathe a sigh of relief as the Grammy Award winning singer has finally announced the news they have all been patiently waiting for: the title and [speculative] release date of her forthcoming comeback single.

The long awaited announcement made to her loyal fans was made via yesterday via the multi-platinum selling icon’s Twitter account.

After sending her fans into a frenzy Mariah touched on the origins of the song, stating that it was composed while the singer was going through a “difficult” time in her life; “I wrote TRIUMPHANT when I was going through a difficult time & it helped me get through it. When u hear it, pay attention 2 the lyrics. #WIN.”

MC and her Def Jam label mate Rick Ross are no strangers, having worked together previously on the remix to Carey’s 2008 hit single ‘Touch My Body.’ Their latest highly anticipated collaboration along with Meek Mill confirms reports that circled the industry in April, when pictures of Mariah Carey and the MMG capo chilling in a recording studio (with DJ Khaled and her longtime friend and frequent collaborator, Jermaine Dupri) surfaced on the net.

Carey is currently putting the finishing touches on her as-yet-untitled first full original album since the release of her not very well received Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel LP in 2009.
