Marger x Josh Osho – “This Year” [Radio Rip] | New Music

To say the least, it’s been a pretty decent year for rising Grime emcee Marger , who has raised his profile ten fold with tracks such as “Goonz”, “My Thing” and bangers such as “Alright”, “Boom Bye Bye” and not forgetting near scene stealing verses on Kozzie‘s “Spartan” and DJ Cameo‘s “Who’s Dat.” Now the young emcee aims to turn things up a notch or two with his forthcoming Cheeky EP, which is now set for release early next year after being pushed back from its original August release date.

Before the Cheeky EP makes its way to our MP3 players Marger is seeing to the official release of his Josh Osho assisted single “This Year.” The track, produced by Sibling, was given its “world premier” a few days ago by BBC 1Xtra’s MistaJam.

Although a nice track and [in my humble opinion] way better than “Shadows,” it once again follows the Grime’s tried tested and approved formula for a shot at mainstream attention of watered down verses with a Pop/R&B singer on the hook. With that being said, it does not take away from the fact that the track has the potential to be Marger’s  2012 breakthrough single… but only time will tell.

Cheeky EP is now set for release on January 23.
