Lupe Fiasco – ‘Around My Way (Freedom Ain’t Free)’ | Music Video

Following the controversy that this particular track stirred, initially involving Pete Rock‘s displeasure with its sampling of his classic jam, “T.R.O.Y.”, but later some hurt feelings on Lupe’s part (to cut to the chase, it was all very unnecessary), Lupe Fiasco premieres the music video for his first Food & Liquor 2: The Great American Rap Album single, “Around My Way (Freedom Ain’t Free)“.

Director Alex Nazari takes the shoot to Lupe’s hometown of Chicago, and films the emcee (a supernatural-looking one at that) rapping around his way, accompanied by a Jazz instrumentalist and a few cartoon friends. Donning a “SWAGGER”-emblazened sweatshirt and ’90s-style dungarees, and seen cruising in his white Lamorghini supercar, Lupe is straight stunting in this clip.

Check out the “Around My Way (Freedom Ain’t Free)” music video below and get a listen of his forthcoming album’s second single, “Bitch Bad“, which was released yesterday. The wait for Food & Liquor 2: The Great American Rap Album Part 1 ends on September 25th, with the second installment arriving at a later date.
