Lupe Fiasco – ‘Around My Way’ | Cover Art

Lupe Fiasco bares his stars and stripes with the artwork for “Around My Way (Freedom Ain’t Free),” the first single from his hugely anticipated forthcoming album, Food & Liquor 2: Great American Rap Album Pt. 1. The song is due for a May 22nd release, with the LP — revealed to be a double album — expected out later this year.

“With this record, I just wanted to go back to the essence of what made that record so special,” the Chicago emcee told Fuse. “The musicality that was on Food & Liquor that the original hardcore Lupe fans appreciated, we put it on this record, but to the tenth power.”

By the sounds of it, fans can expect more of the same brand of awe-inspiring, politically-charged rap from Lupe, which explains the nice use of irony in the cover art above (you didn’t think he was going all patriotic on us, did you?).

Stay tuned to SoulCulture for the arrival of “Around My Way (Freedom Ain’t Free).”
