Listen: Flying Lotus drops a “Bedtime Mix” for Annie Mac on BBC Radio 1

After headlining at Manchester’s Warehouse Project this weekend, Steven Ellison a.k.a Flying Lotus, rang into Annie Mac‘s BBC Radio 1 show to provide a little Bedtime Mix for those who have trouble counting sheep without an ambient audio backdrop.

The spellbinding LA producer began his mix with Bjork‘s “All Is Full of Love”, before moving on to selections from Miles Davis, Aphex Twin and Vangelis’ Blade Runner theme. Ellison then briefly explained why he chose these songs – a mixture of enlightening, cinematic experiences and his outsider status as a youngster.

It’s always to interesting to hear FlyLo speak, but as he’s someone who suffers from sleep paralysis, it’s particularly enlightening to hear him discuss the land of nod. Whether you decide to listen as you nod off at the office or wait until darkness falls, this is the perfect musical nightcap.

Listen to his mix at BBC Radio 1 and see below for FlyLo’s “Auntie’s Lock//Infinitum” with a video involving lots of furry animals, which is about as lulling as music gets:
