Lil’ Wayne drops ‘No Lie’ freestyle, gives new ‘Dedication 4’ release date | New Music
Just like Young Money executive Mack Maine predicted, the latest installment of Lil’ Wayne and DJ Drama’s Dedication mixtape series did not drop Wednesday night as planned. Just a while ago, Wayne himself explained the pushback and gave us an updated (approximate) release date.
The rappa-ternt-skateboarder says he decided to change his date so as to not step on any of his comrade 2 Chainz‘ ten toes.
“My homeboy 2 Chainz just dropped his album yesterday … and I refuse to put any attention on me when the spotlight, everybody’s eyes, everybody’s attention and everybody’s focus should be on my n–ga 2 Chainz’ album Based on a T.R.U. Story,” Wayne said.
He went to say that he would put the project out “in like another week or so,” but also admitted that he hasn’t totally finished recording it yet due to his hectic (and apparently injury-laden) skateboarding schedule. But he will give it to us next week, so stop trippin’, Pimp.
To sate us until “another week or so” gets here, Weezy shared one track from Dedication 4, a freestyle over the beat to 2 Chainz’ chart-topping single, “No Lie.”
