Leah LaBelle album sampler (presented by L.A. Reid, Pharrell Williams, Jermaine Dupri) | New Music
Following an in-studio introduction and teaser track “Sexify,” former American Idol contestant Leah LaBelle drops a five-track album sampler welcoming you into her world, as presented by hitmakers L.A. Reid, Pharrell Williams and Jermaine Dupri.
I’ve had my eye and ear on Leah since her YouTube covers first displaying her wonderful voice. Following American Idol, she has also sung backing vocals for the likes of Keri Hilson, Eric Benet, JoJo and Jordin Sparks.
Epic Records’ L.A. Reid is overseeing her debut project, which seems to be a joint venture between Dupri’s So So Def and Pharrell’s I Am Other imprints. I believe she represents something there is a lack of – soulful singers – and if you don’t believe me, listen to her album sampler.
Diving in with Leah’s voice over Pharrell’s stellar throwback production, lead single “Sexify” is a total winner to my ears – but the rest of the sampler is equally as dope. For me the standout track has to be “So Hot.” [I’ve already played it about 20 million times, I’m surprised there’s not a hole in my hard drive]
Check out the album sampler below and stay locked for more on this exciting project.
Loved her when she sang “Let’s Stay Together” on Idol. She still remains as one of my favourites. Been following her religiously since Idol days, and her Youtube uploads post her cover of “Take a Bow”. Will definitely buy her album!
