Lana Del Rey – “Ride” (UNKLE Remix) | New Music

From Joy Orbison‘s remix of “Video Games” to Afterlife‘s take on “National Anthem,” Lana Del Rey‘s music has proven to be a popular body of work for electronic artists to revisit. This time it’s trip hop duo UNKLE‘s turn to take on LDR, joining MJ Cole and Photek as producers who have chosen to remix “Ride“, the Rick Rubin crafted ballad from Born To Die: The Paradise Edition.

The British boys make the wise decision to draw out the darkness inherent in Lana’s melancholy vocals, and whilst their eight-minute version is a little over-long, the product is a sprawling, stuttering epic. With the help of rattling drum patterns and ominous bass, they turn LDR’s vocals into a choral dirge and create a terse, tension-building masterpiece. Listen for yourself below.
