Kool A.D. of Das Racist announces new album + drops “Ticky Ticky” f/ Main Attrakionz | Music News

Queens, New York’s Das Racist are an odd bunch. That’s not meant as an insult, more of a “these guys are the only ones truly going against the grain” observation. Having established themselves as a staple in the semi-sarcastic, semi-genius rap sub-genre (see: Lil B), the trio, comprised of Heems, Kool A.D. and loopy hypeman Dap, have planned to part ways temporarily to experiment with bars, verses and humour further as solo artists.

Kool A.D. kicked things off at the top of this year with the free release, The Palm Wine Drinkard, which was followed by Heems’ Nehru Jackets later in January, and now the Das Racist puzzle piece is set to put out a further solo record with 51.

The free album, which is set to drop this Tuesday (April 24th) on Mishka/Greedhead/Veehead, will feature Oakland’s Main Attrakionz duo, The Coup‘s Boots Riley, Trackademicks, Heems (of course) and more. Ahead of its release, Kool was kind enough to tag his “Ticky Ticky” cut, which was produced by The Pack‘s (Lil B’s group) Young L and features Main Attrakionz and Green Ova, with an early release.

Give it a listen below and keep a note of 51 in your mental diary.
