King Mez f/ Drey Skonie – ‘The Allure’ (prod. by J. Cole) | New Music

Despite being the target of recent verbal attacks from Canibus, Charles Hamilton and Diggy, Roc Nation’s J. Cole continues to take the high road and keeps it moving by producing “The Allure,” the latest release from fellow North Carolina MC King Mez.

King Mez is a 20-something from Raleigh, North Carolina, whose potent lyrics delivered in his trademark patient, mature style have earned him the respect of his N.C. peers.

“He can rap better than I can. I don’t say that about people,” Thee Tom Hardy, one of Mez’s Tar Heel state contemporaries, tells Indy Week. “He’s got a gift at rhyming and at performing where you listen and know he’s got a big future.”

J. Cole Nation reports that Cole was introduced to King Mez’s music last month and immediately requested to get into the studio with him. “The Allure” is the first product of that request.

The single is the first release from King Mez’s upcoming debut album, My Everlasting Zeal.
