King L – ‘The Val Venis Song’ | New Music

A certain “I Don’t Like” remix is all the proof you need to show that Chicago is one of the most promising rap regions right now. In the ranks alongside Chief Keef, Chance The Rapper and Rockie Fresh, King L, formerly known as King Louie, in particular looks to have fruitful career ahead of him, getting props 2 Chainz and Red Cafe who jumped on his “Too Cool” remix, and having recently signed to Epic Records.

Just as we thought the dance trend that once domineered mainstream rap had gone for good, L’s “Val Venis” dance, named after the professional wrestler, he jokingly created back in January (and became a local trending topic on Twitter for days) gets packaged in official audio format today with “The Val Venis Song”.

Like a lot of street rap coming out of the Windy City today, this is very much trap music. Check it out below and look for King L’s debut album Dope & Shrimp coming soon via Lawless Inc./Epic Records/Sony.
