Kendrick Lamar visits The Breakfast Club [Video]

L.A. king Kendrick Lamar got up bright and early this morning to check in with Power 105’s The Breakfast Club. The Black Hippy chopped it up with DJ Envy, Charlamagne Tha God and Angela Yee about his history in the game, his situation at Aftermath, his debut album and, of course, the whole Nicki Minaj/Hot 97 debacle at this year’s Summer Jam.

Apparently, K-Dot was the artist Peter Rosenberg was introducing when he made his now-infamous comments regarding Nicki’s “Starships” single, so the Club asked him how he’d feel if the shoe was on the other foot and it was his music being dissed.

“Oh, I’d be hot. [Nicki] got all the right reasons to be hot and all the right reasons to do what she did,” he said, referring to Nicki’s decision not to take the stage. Although he understood Nicki’s actions, he said he still would have done one thing differently: “I still woulda performed, though. I’da performed, fa sho.”
