For the uninitiated, Das Racist are pretty funny guys. The quasi-genius rap trio from Queens, comprised of Heems, Kool A.D. and hypeman-slash-lunatic Dap, were deemed funny enough by the people over at Noisey (which is in turn run by the people over at VICE) to be granted their own rap show, which is, fittingly enough, called Rap Show.
Heems was up to the plate first (the hosting duties will be traded between Kool and himself on a weekly basis) and for the debut episode, Kendrick Lamar filled the grooves on the hot seat. In a pretty laid back chat, Himanshu pressed (well, more like nudged) K.Dot on keeping a pad for his lyrics, kick ass dreams, his favourite black hippy (outside the actual Black Hippies), white fans using the N-word and the show Home Improvements.
Noisey promise us the “best rappers on the planet” on the Rap Show, and if you’ll notice in the introduction, Wiley, Tyler, The Creator and Bun B‘s faces all spring up. I’m not sure if they’re hints for who’s to come, but let’s keep our fingers crossed that they are.
