Kelis on Nas ‘Life Is Good’ cover: “I can respect that he wears his feelings on his sleeve” [Video]
As we should all hopefully know by now, Nas‘ much-discussed cover for his forthcoming album Life Is Good pictures the rapper clinging onto a green dress (view here), one he explains belonged to his ex-wife Kelis. The singer, who was on the bill for this year’s Isle of Wight festival, held this weekend, caught up with NME, who immediately raised the question of her ex-husband’s artwork.
“My feelings about it are not really relevant,” she explained, before stating she sees Nas as one of the greatest, and respects his genuineness and honesty. “As an artist I can respect that he wears his feelings on his sleeve.”
Kelis also spoke on her busy touring schedule, being “mid-way” through her next album, which she hints will be “more electro, maybe a little deeper and darker” and how her collaboration with Skream came about.
