Kanye West & Nicki Minaj Top The Billboard Charts

Kanye West‘s album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy grabbed the number one spot with almost half a million copies shifted in the first week. Nicki Minaj followed in at number two, with Pink Friday shifting 375K units.

MBDTF‘s 495K sales give Yeezy his forth consecutive number 1 album on the Billboard 200 and the fourth-best sales week of 2010. It beats 808 & Heartbreak’s 450K first week sales, but doesn’t touch his personal best of 957,000 units of 2007’s Graduation shifted in it’s first week.

Nicki Minaj‘s Pink Friday earns the title of second most albums sold by a female rapper, just falling behind Lauryn Hill‘s Miseducation of Lauryn Hill who had first week sales of 423,000.
