Julie Dexter – “Broke Up About You” | New Music

The first single from Birmingham-born, Atlanta-residing Brit soulstress Julie Dexter’s forthcoming album New Again, “Broke Up About You” was produced by Steve Miggedy Maestro and is out now in the UK [Amazon UK] [or via Amazon US tomorrow].

“I wanted to write a song from the ‘other woman’s’ perspective,” Dexter says. “I wanted to articulate what she goes through, the lack of compassion for her, the ridicule that she receives and how a relationship like that can come to fruition. We always wonder how the “other woman” comes to be.”

Julie Dexter – “Broke Up About You”:

“There are tons of songs out there that are from the perspective of the man or woman who has been cheated on and the other man or woman always gets a bad rap because most of the time we don’t know the full story and we assume they are the home wrecker but that’s not always the case. So this song is dedicated to all ‘the other men or women’ out there who have found themselves in some kinda love triangle.”
