Joker ft. William Cartwright – “On My Mind” | New Music

Last week we brought you the title track from Joker‘s forthcoming album The Vision, featuring Jessie Ware and a surprise appearance from rapper Freddie Gibbs. With just a couple of weeks until the album drops, the Bristol producer has let another track loose. This time it’s the William Cartwright assisted “On My Mind”. Keen-eared music fans might recognise Cartwright’s voice from last year’s amazing Die and Interface produced D&B track “Bright Lights”. In fact, if I remember rightly, Joker turned in a pretty great remix of that tune too.

Listening to the “The Vision” and “On My Mine” side-by-side should demonstrate both Joker’s versatility and that he’s shooting for a more mainstream sound with this project. Unlike some of his peers though (no indirects, I’m talking about Nero), it seems less about cheesy stadium Dubstep and more about crafting great songs with commercial sensibilities. Looking forward to this album a lot.
