Joie Manda leaves Def Jam, joins Interscope as President of Urban Music

Releasing an in-depth statement, Joie Manda quit his post as President of Def Jam Records today to take on the role of President of Urban Music at Interscope Records.

Responsible for the signing of Trinidad James, Manda’s time as President at Def Jam lasted just a year. Happy to have been given the opportunity at Interscope, he stated, “I am truly grateful to Barry [Weiss], John [Janick] and Jimmy Iovine for this exciting new opportunity.”

Leaving Def Jam behind, Manda will now at Interscope be working with the likes of Kendrick Lamar, French Montana, and Eminem.

“I’ve learned a lot from Barry in the last year and am very appreciative of everything he has done for me,” Manda also said in his statement. “I am now looking forward to being part of the Interscope [Records] family, a company uniquely positioned for success despite this challenging marketplace.”

Congratulations to Joie on his new post, and let’s hope he can continue the good run that Interscope have been having as of late.
