JME – ‘Murking’ (Prod. Preditah) | New Music

The “quality over quantity” ethos is rarely adopted among today’s artists, especially considering the pressure to keep up with the pace of the internet-driven industry. Perhaps it’s his steady income outside of music (how many emcees do you know with their own mobile phone service provider?) that alleviates the pressure on Boy Better Know figurehead JME, but whatever the reason, a large portion of his output is, well, pretty f*cking good.

Following the simply brilliant lyrical assault that was aimed our way with “96 F*ckries” back in January (“You’re not a badman ‘cuz you robbed someone fam, you’re just poor and brave”), Jamie Adenuga returned last night to premiere his newest drop, “Murking”, on Logan’s Kiss FM show.

With production handled by the storming Preditah, JME attacks not only our eardrums (quotables aplenty), but our sense of gravity too with such an erratically warping bass-lead beat. He’s not making it public when the follow up to 2010’s Blam! will arrive, but it needs to be as soon as humanly possible.
