Legendary underground Hip Hop artist, Jeru The Damaja has confirmed that he working on a new album, seventeen years after releasing his debut classic, The Sun Rises in the East.

While recently in Toronto, Canada to perform at a Guru tribute, Jeru sat down with MuchMusic’s RapCity and discussed who’d he would be working with on the yet untitled project. “I have a bunch of dope guys lined up; Large Professor giving me some tracks, JuJu from the Beatnuts, Pete Rock…”

Jeru, who at the beginning of his career worked exclusively with DJ Premier reportedly fell out with the legendary producer after his second album The Wrath of the Math came out. However Jeru always contended that they’d merely decided to go in different directions and that they had since had a discussion about working together again.

“Hopefully I’ma get the [DJ] Premier track on there, you know I spoke to Premier not too long ago.” When asked what else fans should expect from the album Jeru replied, “I’m just gonna come with the dopest album I can possibly come with.”
