Homeboy Sandman – “Cops Get Scared of Me” (Prod. Exile) | New Music

Homeboy Sandman is one of the most likeable emcees you’ll hear. The Queens, New York, native boasts quite a following on the underground scene but doesn’t share your typical rapper’s résumé: who else can say they dropped out of law school to pursue Hip-Hop? That unique background has always seemed to reflect in his music by upping that pengame IQ and breathing fresh bars into your speakers. His latest track, “Cops Get Scared Of Me,” sees Homeboy change his entire image and soun– just joking; here’s more audio goodness from the Sandman.

Like with many collaborations before this (namely with Fashawn and Blu), adding beatsmith Exile into the mix makes for a winning formula. That’s definitely the case with “Cops…”, which can only be described as a beautiful beeping mess, putting the producer’s stop-and-start sound to good effect as you’ll probably find yourself fiddling with the rewind button just to replay Homeboy Sandman’s lines.

This fresh delivery will feature on the emcees’s upcoming Chimera EP (Stones Throw), which arrives in April.
