Game sued over beat used on ‘California Republic’ mixtape | Music News

Mac Miller isn’t the only high profile rapper in the legal firing line. Game has been sued for unauthorised use of the “Skate On” beat, found on his recent California Republic mixtape. According to TMZ, the track’s producer, Infamous, has filed a $100,000 lawsuit against the Compton native.

Infamous claims that he offered the beat to Game back in 2010 to determine if the rapper wanted to use it. He alleges that he got no response, until he saw the instrumental used on the aforementioned mixtape, obviously without his approval. The producer also alleges that he tried to resolve the issue with Game back in April when California Republic was first released, but he failed to get a reply.

The beatsmith says that he typically charges around $20,000-$25,000 a beat.
