Freddie Gibbs announces Gangsta Grillz mixtape with DJ Drama | Music News

Gary, Indiana-bred rapper Freddie Gibbs has been making all the right moves to taking his skills to the big leagues. After signing to Young Jeezy‘s CTE (Corporate Thugz Entertainment) label last April, the baritone emcee is set to link up with another Atlanta figure in DJ Drama, today announcing his own Gangsta Grillz-sponsored mixtape.

The free release will be titled Baby Face Killa and will place Gangsta Gibbs in prestige company upon the tape’s yet-to-be announced release. Drama’s Gangsta Grillz series has become one of the most prevalent mixtape brands of the past decade, not only producing some of the most revered work from rappers like Lil Wayne (notably with Dedication 1, 2 and 3) but helping to launch the careers of T.I. and the aforementioned Young Jeezy.

Freddie Gibbs also looks to have full-length releases with The Alchemist, Ski Beatz and Madlib (under MadGibbs) in the pipelines.
