Frank Ocean will not release nostalgia, LITE | Music News

With rumours floating around the web that Frank Ocean is prepping the release of nostalgia, LITE (a condensed re-release of his hugely acclaimed nostalgia, ULTRA mixtape), the singer/songwriter took to Tumblr to rain on the parade.

“Hahaha. What I look like a year later re-releasing my last album? Not icey. Bitch I’m icey,” Frank posted. He later added: “ONLY SAYING THAT FOR MY JOURNALIST/BLOGGER FRIENDS. i know my icey-ness is obvious,” in a comedic tone – one that his Tumblr followers will be all-too familiar with.

Reports of the nostalgia, LITE concept began circulating in June of last year, detailing that Def Jam will be making a seven-track record (comprised of favourites from the original record like “Novocane” and “Songs For Women” plus two bonus cuts, “Acura Integurl” and the recently leaked “Whip Appeal”) available for commercial release.

Issues with clearing samples have hindered the idea (most recently with The Eagles‘ sample on “American Wedding”) which looked to destine the commercial repackage to the bin, anyway.

On a brighter note, Frank will appear on Odd Future‘s collective album OF Tape Vol. 2, which hits shelves tomorrow (March 20).
