Frank Ocean talks writing Nostalgia, Ultra & clearing samples for re-release [Video]

In this clip, Odd Future R&B singer Frank Ocean talks to MTV about his writing process, particularly for acclaimed album Nostalgia, Ultra. He states that radio favourite “Swim Good” was written in just half an hour, whilst “American Wedding” (one of my favourites from the project) took well over a week to pen.

He also discusses the likelihood of clearing some of album’s many samples for its commercial re-release (as a slimmed-down EP) in July on legendary label Def Jam, speculating that the aforementioned “American Wedding” (which samples The Eagles‘ “Hotel California”) probably won’t make it.
