Evidence – Inside Cats & Dogs EP 1-5 | Vlog Series

Aside from the DJ Babu mixed album sampler he dropped last month, Evidence will now release single track video previews of tracks that will feature on his upcoming solo album, Cats & Dogs, as part of his own vlog series entitled Inside Cats & Dogs. Below are the first five installments of the series…

In the first installment, the Dilated Peoples emcee gives us an insight into the creative thought process that went into the creation of “Liner Notes”, featuring Aloe Blacc.

For the second installment, aside from stating that “Strangers” is the “hardest track on the record”, Ev tells a short story that went into the concept of the song “Strangers”.

Standing on his tour bus, Ev opens the third episode of Inside Cats & Dogs with a few off his own bars off “The Red Carpet”, his intriguing collaboration with Raekwon The Chef and renowned West Coast emcee Ras Kass. Detailing his creative process, the Cali bred emcee states that the rhyme style of his verses were influenced by the time he spent with fellow Cali bred artists Fashawn and Blu, former Slum Village member Elzhi and listening to music by Jay Electronica.

For “It Wasn’t Me”, the four episode of the series, Evidence states that the Danny Keyz produced track will give further insight into his past as a graffiti artist and reveals which former underground artist and former Death Row signee turned international superstar gave him his name.

For the fifth installment off the series, Evidence opens up about the time he spent on tour with Kanye West shortly before Ye’s mother passed away, which influenced the bars he wrote for the second verse on “I Don’t Need Love”.
