Emeli Sandé retains top spot in UK Albums chart; Jessie Ware debuts at No. 5 | Music News

Storming Scottish singer/songwriter Emeli Sandé continues her dominance of the UK Albums Charts. Her debut album, Our Version of Events, which sold over 110,000 copies in its first week, has retained the No. 1 spot for the second week running, totalling her time on the charts to an impressive 28 weeks. The LP had been knocked off the top position twice before, but jumped three places last week to reclaim prime position.

The album’s latest single, “Read All About It (Part III)”, also remains successful in the charts, having only moved down one position to the fourth spot in the Top 40 singles chart, following its debut at No. 3 last week.

It seems UK female singing talent is high in demand right now. English songstress Jessie Ware has entered the UK Albums Chart at No. 5 with her debut effort, Devotion, released August 20th. The album moved Ed Sheeran‘s + mainstay down a spot.
