Ed Sheeran has been able to build a massive UK following in part thanks to stunning acoustic sets, and recently he visited the States to grace Jimmy Kimmel Live with performances of “The A Team” and “You Need Me, I Don’t Need You“, his two lead singles from debut album +, armed only with a guitar and his flawless voice.

“The A Team”, which recently helped Ed into the US Billboard Chart for the first time and earned him a Grammy nomination for ‘Song of the Year’, plays just as well live as it does on the radio, and here it leaves the American audience under the British singer-songwriter’s spell, with the help of some moving new intonations.

On the other hand, the extended version of “You Need Me, I Don’t Need You” sees them wowed by Ed’s sheer musical talent, as he ups the pace to keep up with his own incredible guitar riffing. The acoustic handiwork from 6.35 to around the 8 minute mark, when he loses the guitar and delivers some energetic double-time rapped vocals, is breathtaking. Plus he gets the crowd going like no-one I’ve seen on Jimmy Kimmel before.
