Earl Sweatshirt performs first show with Odd Future in New York [Video]

Although it’s been over a month since Earl Sweatshirt‘s “Home” track hit the new, which marked the rappers’ long awaited return, yesterday could be described as his official homecoming party.

Coinciding with the release of Odd Future‘s OF Tape Vol. 2 (which we later realised contained a tasty little feature from Mr. Sweatshirt) yesterday, the collective were in full force in New York City as Earl (in his very first major interview) joined Tyler, The Creator on Peter Rosenberg‘s Hot 97 show to shed light on his time away.

The group additionally unveiled the music video to their epic 11-minute closing track on the album “Oldie” after some confusion on Twitter, embedding their names on blogs and websites worldwide even further. And as if that wasn’t enough entertainment for one day, the Golf Wang outfit treated fans to Earl Sweatshirt’s first live performance since his arrival, selling out NYC’s Hammerstein Ballroom as part of their current World Tour.

As you can see in the two videos below, the crew performed throwback hits like “Orange Juice” (in its full glory, for once) and Earl’s solo smash, “EARL”. To everyone’s relief, the notedly big-lipped rapper seemed to be in an abundance of energy, contrasting with his somewhat reserved demeanor in the Peter Rosenberg interview.

Odd Future will hit UK shores on March 28th for their Birmingham show, making stops at Brixton (March 29th), Manchester (March 31st) and Glasgow (April 1st) before wrapping the UK leg up in Dublin on April 4th. Fingers crossed Earl Sweatshirt will be present at those gigs, too.
