When Take Care leaked at the beginning of this week, it was missing a couple of joints. One of them was “Hate Sleeping Alone” which, frankly, sounds like the kind of track Drake sits by himself watching episodes of True Blood to. I mean it might be the spiritual successor to “9am In Dallas” for all I know, but based on the title alone, I doubt it.
The other song though, was a The Weeknd assisted bonus track called “The Ride”. Since Drizzy announced the song’s title on Twitter back in May, it’s grown into one of the most talked-about Drake joints in recent memory. Supposedly Drake’s favourite track on the album, The track finally appeared earlier today and it’s pretty much classic Drake. Shit hot, atmospheric vocals from The Weeknd, a handful of slick quotables – this is the Drizzy we love to hear. Great way to end the album.
“You n*ggas getting older, I see no threat in Yoda…” ( c ) Drake
