Drake collaborates with Stevie Wonder on Take Care album | Music News

This weekend Canadian star Drake headlined the OVO (October’s Very Own) Festival in Toronto alongside performances by Lil Wayne, J. Cole, Nas, Rick Ross, The Weeknd and the legendary Stevie Wonder; the latter whom the actor-turned-rapper regards as “a very close friend of mine” – and will feature on Drake’s new album this year, he revealed.

“I’m honored to call him a friend, someone who embraced me very early in this music business,” Drake recently said in a post-festival interview with MuchMusic, adding, “Stevie Wonder is actually on Take Care.”

Following his platinum-selling 2010 debut Thank Me Later, Take Care is of course Drake’s highly anticipated sophomore album, set for release on October 24, 2011.

Of Stevie Wonder’s involvement Drake reveals, “He helped me out with a lot of the music, just came and sat with me, listened to my music, told me where I could add a couple things to make it more sonically appealing, and not only that but we actually are writing together, which is an incredible experience.”
