DMX critiques Rick Ross + Drake in Power 105.1 interview [Video] | Music News

Even during the sparse periods he was crafting albums, DMX‘s personal problems have often clouded his musical ability. The past few years of his life can be reduced to drugs and alcohol, reckless behavior and recurring jail sentences among other worrying issues.

Since his last conviction towards the end of last year, Earl Simmons looks to have realigned his focus on rap – and rap alone – having been linked with products of the new wave like Machine Gun Kelly and Waka Flocka Flame.

In true DMX fashion however, it appears the former Ruff Ryders frontman isn’t impressed by the majority of hip hop’s current offerings, particularly Rick Ross and Drake. Speaking with New York’s Power 105.1 crew, DMX delivered a brutally honest, yet charmingly funny rant on the MMG boss, stating: “He’s aight man… he just talk about eating too much… y’know, how much can a ni**a eat? How much weed can you smoke, son? Let’s talk about something else.

“I know you got the Maybachs; you got the Aston Martins. Okay. Good for you! I see a whole ‘nother side of the coin, son,” the rapper continued.

When posed about Drake, he was a little more harsh. “I don’t like anything about Drake. I don’t like his f**king voice. I don’t like what he talks about. I don’t like his face. I don’t like the way he walks. Like, nothing. I don’t like his haircut. I might just – let me shut up,” aired the emcee, to a hoard of laughter from co-host Charlamagne Tha God.

Aside from taking shots, DMX also spoke on his wild behaviour, the troubles he faced on Def Jam, his upcoming album Undisputed, plus more.

It’ll be interesting to see if either Ross or Drake respond to DMX‘s vent. Watch below for the full scoop.
