DJ Premier says joint album w/ Nas may start production this year | Music News

In a recent interview with HipHopDX, legendary producer DJ Premier gave fans an update on the collaborative album with equally-legendary MC Nas that’s been whispered about for a while now, saying that the duo may begin working on the project this year.

After unsuccessfully trying to get a few placements on Nas’ Life Is Good album, Primo says he was told the beats he submitted may be used for their joint project.

“He said, ‘Wait, let me get through this and put this one out, we’ll start very soon this year,'” Primo explained. “He’s said that before but I think this time it’s going down because there’s been more involvement with management and planning it out on how to do it. I’ma take his word for it that it’s gonna start this year.”

As for what the album will be called, Premier says that a concrete title has yet to be chosen, but that they’re entertaining the idea of calling it Finally.

“I don’t know if that’s what it’s gonna be called but that’d be a dope title, you know what I’m saying? It’s not written in stone but Finally would be dope,” he said. “You can quote me, but don’t quote me.”
