A couple weeks after photos from the set and behind-the-scenes footage of the video for DJ Khaled‘s latest star-studded single “Take It To The Head” hit the web, MTV shares their sitdown with the We The Best CEO and prolific multitasker to discuss the new visuals and his creative process when developing them.
“I told [director] Colin [Tilley], ‘Yo we gotta do the best video. We gotta win awards and we really gotta take it there ’cause we got nothin’ but mega-stars on one record,'” Khaled told Sway. Khaled is known for creating singles with multiple high profile artists and “Take It To The Head” is no different, as the DJ assembled Rick Ross, Lil’ Wayne, Nicki Minaj and Chris Brown to join him on this one.
He says that when it comes time to shoot a video for one of his songs, it’s important to him that all involved are on the same page.
“I always send everybody the treatment,” he says. “I want everybody to be happy. If they wanna tweak somethin’ they can tweak somethin’, but nine times out of ten I come with the right treatment.”
“Take It To The Head” is the first single from Khaled’s sixth studio album Kiss The Ring, which is coming soon.
